JULY 4th HOLIDAY

Yesterday, the 4th, was great.  I cooked all day.  Didn't plan it that way but once I got started I couldn't stop.  Made crab cakes on ciabatta rolls, dollup of goat cheese and avacado,  topped with coleslaw in a roasted red pepper mushroom homemade dressing and baked beans that baked all day mmmm caramel good.  

For desert - Blueberries, Raspberries and quartered Strawberries in their own syrup with whipped cream on top sandwiched between homemade shortcake with Maple Sugar sprinkled on top before baking.  Yummy Yummy Yummy in my tummy tummy tummy.  

Then walked up to the top of the hill and watched the fireworks down the coast including El Segundo, Marina Del Rey and a little tiny bit of Manhattan Beach.  There was a marine layer kind of clouding the view but it was a very nice way to end the day.  Hope you all had a wonderful "Independence Day" as well.  We are as independent as we allow ourselves to be - my conclusion of a wonderful, fun filled day.
