Claudia Trimbur-Pagel - An amazing woman/artist/instructor

  Pics from the amazing two day of classes in Redondo Beach at "The Mandrel". Claudia Trimbur-Pagel was the instructor and these are her beads. Wish I could say they are mine, but they are not. I will be practicing these techniques for sure. Claudia's beads are amazing.

This little bird on top the bead reminds me to think outside the box and to take a dare I've put up for myself.  See what happens.

There, he peeks over the top but hides his feathers hidden on the other side.  I'm going to have to name this little guy.

Although I made the ring set up in ArtClay Silver, the bead was made by Claudia.  I don't know quite how I maneuvered that but the ring is gorgeous and I'm happy it is in my care forever.

I purchased the two blue beads (one already a bracelet) and the other to make a matching pendant.
Love it.

CHERISH by Suzanne - Lampwork Glass Beads

CHERISH To treat with tenderness and affection; to nurture with care; to protect and aid.

I began this string of beads over four days ago. I was so happy with the results when I recovered them from the kiln the morning after they joined us on earth. (Just saying - they weren't here, and now they are ;o)) I began cleaning out the holes with my dremel and two of them just broke in half. A third was cracked! What had gone wrong? All of a sudden this little string of beads became so important to me. I loved the beads that had not made it. I'd taken so much care in creating them and they made me smile when I put them in the kiln for the night. Such is the life of a bead maker. Some make it and some just don't. When they broke in my hand, my heart sank. I felt the loss of something I had treated with tenderness and affection, nutured with care, had protected and done my best to aid until they reached their final destination.

I created three more to take the place of those I could no longer use. I became so involved in healing this string of beads that I created even more matching spacers and unique little beads that were not in the original plan. Hopefully they will inspire those talented jewelry designers looking for a set that calls out to them "Buy Me (kiss kiss)".

The end result is even better than I'd hoped. Just goes to show you - never give up and love what you do. Oh Yes - and - make Lemonade when the world tosses you a lemon.

CIRCUS! CIRCUS! Lampwork Glass Beads - SOLD

I love the color of these beads. Bright, cheerful, just colorie all over and lots of details on both sides. My very own handmade murrinis (those little stripy flowery dots) inside dots..haha Everyone laughs at the clowns that dress like these beads. CHEERIO - Lampwork Glass Beads - SOLD

Cherrio everyone! Last night on Rosie, Sara Ferguson was a guest on the show. I love it whenever I get a taste of the Royals. Or in this case, ex-Royal. At any rate, I love Fergy.

This yummy set of beads just made me Cheery as I began to post the pics. I love the lilac, mmmm, cherry/rosey speckled color of these beads. I might almost even call it orchid (maybe)which is another favorite color of mine; paired with black and a hint of dry martini green is amazingly gorgeous. The character of the glass shows up loud and clear with a 3D depth in layers of clear throughout the set.

This is a very colorful set of 5 focal and 6 lampwork spacer beads. It makes me feel like dancin! Yeh! I should have named it "Saturday Night Fever"..lol

ENCHANTED - set lampwork glass beads

ENCHANTED is a set of 5 focal beads and 7 decorative spacer beads and 14 purchased tiny black spacers. It reminds me of taking a trip through the rain forest in Washington State. It has an enchanting aura about it. There are layers of clear giving an interesting 3D effect.

PURPINK - Lampwork Glass Beads (Set)

This funky little set of PURPINK beads was so fun for me to make. Pink, Purple, flowers, squigglies, dots on each side decorated with hair fine glass stringers as always glass on glass melted in the flame on a canvas of my hand made glass beads. How grateful am I to be living my dream? Very grateful.

This bead is just sooo delightful. The flowers are dancing right off the bead! Lots of motion and bright COLOR.

Suzanne - What is a Newspaper? Black/White and Read all over...

This is a fabulous set of 3 focal beads, one larger than the other two, 6 matching speckled red spacer beads (one of which is a double bead) and 18 purchased small black interest beads. The red is a really pretty blue red. No orange in it at all.

This set could easily be broken up into a vivacious pendant and matching bracelet and earrings to match. Oh what you can do with just a few great matching lamp work beads.

This is a great little set from yesterday fresh out of the kiln today. These purpley blue fade to orchid beads with happy white daisies with silver glass centers, polka dots and even three black fins on one for added interest. They are rainy day beads with high hopes for sunshine tomorrow.

The set is decorated on both sides as always with hair fine stringer work painted with glass on glass while in the flame.

This set will make a fantastic bracelet or necklace.

SUZANNE - Pocket Full of Posies - (set glass beads)

Hi everyone. No I didn't drop off the face of the earth even though it may seem so. I took the enamel class from JC Herrell and was so in love with enamels afterward I wanted to incorporate them into my designs. Practice, practice, practice until I could finally come up with something I am proud of. The colors are SO bright. Much brighter than the COE 104 Effetre etc. and handle differently as well. Although the base bead is made of Effetre white the enamel powder is shaken with a sifter onto the bead and put back into the flame to melt. The effects are faded colors on colors, which I like. Enamels are powdered glass and there are so many ways to work with them. Up until now I've only worked with rods of glass. I hope you like these as much as I enjoyed making them. They will be in my Etsy Shop shortly.

It's good to be back online sharing my beads. My beads are selling well and I'm developing many friends in the buying, selling and creative world. I'm blessed.

JC Herrell Glass Class

Hi everyone. I spent the weekend in a power and technique packed Sunday and Monday. JC Herrell taught her passion, stringer work and enamels, and I was a lucky one to attend the two day session with her.

What a gifted teacher, all around nice person, and extremely talented glass artist. I am honored to have been in one of her classes and consider myself touched by the anointed! I also won in the drawing, one of her coveted "Rainbow" beads, also her one of her signature beads which she taught us to make. Tons of work and precision. We laughed about how much the German Glass Artists love her because of that. I called her the Mercedes of the glass world.

I'm including her case of glass which she brought with her. I like to purchase at least one bead of each of the teachers I've learned from and with JC I just couldn't decide which I wanted. I wanted them all. So when I won the Rainbow bead I couldn't have been happier.

Learned tons, spent time with wonderful glass artists, made new friends and bonded even better with my new old friends I've met over the last 6 months or so.

My work should be reflecting what I've learned from JC. I'm so blessed. Thank you Donna for inviting her to come teach at your shop "The Mandrel". My favorite place to spend money and meet up with friends. You are the greatest!!!

Fairy Fly in the Garden - Handmade Lampwork Glass Bead - Set

I had so much fun making these beads last night. This little Fairy Fly is in an Amazing Fairy Futuristic Garden. Silver Fairy Dust is sprinkled around behind the especially furled fern fron he sits on. The back is sprinkled with Fairy Dust as well. Hard to see in the pictures, but if you squint you may be able to see it... A couple of my handmade murrini flowers in this garden.

The accompanying five bonus beads are fun as well. Three pink spacers with transparent blue cotton candy spun round and round and two transparent blue with raised dots poking fun.

About the focal:

Free formed approximately 58 x 31 mm at the widest part. Wound on 3/32 mandrel as are the spacers.

Jupiter Dragon Fly - Lampwork Glass Beads - Set

Yea I had my first special order yesterday for beads which were for sale and sold recently using this color, "Jupiter". I love this color and since I had it out and was already working with it, I decided to make a Dragon Fly set. Who woulda guessed. The pinks, golds and terra cotta all wrapped up in this beautiful Effetre color are different each time a bead is made. I love that about Jupiter glass!

This set is five spacer beads on the larger side and one focal button bead.

Bead hole: wound on 3/32 mandrels

The little silver spacers are purchased and included in the sale.

Three Amigos - Lampwork Glass Beads

These three came out of the kiln this morning much to my amazement in one piece and I really liked them. Something different. The Dragon Flies are encircling the bead which I haven't seen done by anyone as of yet. So I guess I will call this my design. Has a nice ring to it - don't you think? Struggling for my identity obviously.

They are rather long which makes them nice for a side piece in a longer necklace or, naturally, as a focal bead in a more elaborate piece.

Wound on 3/32 mandrel - that is what those pieces of metal are out the top and bottom. When the bead is removed from the mandrel that's where the hole comes from! Who knew how they got that hole in the bead?

The Dragon Fly on the right is of silvered glass and very pretty but hard to catch on camera (besides being a littttle bit out of focus). The two on the outside are nice and organic looking. Both have silvered glass in the body of the bead.

Darth Vader Dragon Fly - Lampwork Glass Bead

This is a Darth Vader Dragon Fly with luminous blue eyes and tail. This lentil bead is approx 1.25 inches in diameter and is wound on a 3/32 mandrel.

I'm having lots of fun working on these little fella's..The story goes that Dragon Flies drift in and out of the spirit side of life and the life we see with our eyes. They are sweet, colorful and also bring good luck! I love 'em.
